Charging Product Configurator - Remote (Anywhere from India/ Jordan / Lebanon)


Basic Scope of job

Responsible for Product Configuration support on Ericsson Charging system applications to ensure support Telecom operator business requirement


Duties & responsibilities

• Assist the Solution Architect in coming up with the proper solution around Charging System.

• Prepare the low-level design document for his deliverables.

• Prepare an impact analysis document for any proposed change on Charging System.

• Design, configure, and implement solutions within the Ericsson Charging System (CS) based on business and technical requirements.

• Develop charging logic, pricing models, and tariffs within the Charging System to support new services and products for the telecom operator.

• Customize and enhance product configurations, such as rating configurations, service classes, and charging profiles.

• Implement and maintain configurations for prepaid and postpaid services, ensuring accurate charging and billing processes.

• Develop and test new charging plans, discount models, and bundles based on marketing and operational needs.

• Collaborate with marketing teams to translate product requirements into system configurations that align with business objectives.

• Integrate the Ericsson Charging System with external systems such as CRM, Billing, and Customer Care using industry-standard protocols (e.g. Diameter, SMPP, SOAP, REST APIs).

• Develop and maintain interfaces for real-time and offline charging events, ensuring seamless communication between systems.

• Conduct comprehensive unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of configured products to ensure accuracy and reliability of charging operations.

• Validate charging configurations with test cases, simulations, and usage scenarios to ensure proper system behavior under different conditions.

• Continuously monitor and optimize charging system configurations to ensure performance, scalability, and stability under high-traffic conditions.

• Fine-tune charging rules and algorithms to enhance system performance, ensuring low latency and efficient resource usage.

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of all configuration changes, including technical design, configuration parameters, and testing results.

• Work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and operations teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical configurations.

• Collaborate with network engineers, billing teams, and IT teams to ensure end-to-end functionality of charging solutions and services.

• Manage and track configuration changes using version control systems to ensure a smooth deployment of new configurations.

• Participate in release management processes, coordinating with IT and operations teams for the timely deployment of system changes with minimal disruption to services.

• Diagnose and resolve configuration-related issues, providing quick resolutions to charging errors or anomalies.

• Investigate and address system discrepancies, implementing corrective measures to prevent future issues.

• Ensure that charging system configurations comply with regulatory requirements and internal security policies.

• Support the SIT, UAT and Acceptance of the implemented solution.


Education & Qualification

CS Configuration Engineer

• Bachelor’s Degree or above

• Minimum of 5 years of GSM Telecom Experience

• In-depth knowledge of the Ericsson Charging System (CS) such as SDP, AIR, CCN, OCC, Digit Route Mediation and Seamless Voucher System.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose, resolve, and prevent configuration issues in a real-time charging environment

• Hands-on experience with integration protocols and interfaces used in telecom charging

• Strong Computer knowledge and UNIX, Linux use for administration and shell scripting

• Good knowledge in database like Oracle, SQL and etc

• Good knowledge in SOAP, Java

• Good oral and written communication skills
