Outstanding and very reputable, $100mm Manufacturing / Construction company located in Connecticut, is seeking an Assistant Controller for an immediate need! This company has grown over $50mm in the last 12 months and will continue to grow!

Duties:

  • Assist the controller in overseeing the accounting department, ensuring proper accounting practices and timely closing of books.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Support audit processes, both internal and external, by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Manage AP team and ensure all vendors & suppliers are paid in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.

  • Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
  • Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
  • Assists with preparations for audits. Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Perform as a key resource in the month end close process.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Lead certain ongoing processes including vendor management.
  • Royalties Accounting along with Corporate G/L
  • Assist with the external financial statement audit.
  • Participate in process improvement projects within the finance team.
  • Reports to Accounting Manager / Controller
  • Assisting the Accounting Director, Tax Director, and other finance managers with cross-functional and compliance-based projects

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting, Masters preferred.
  • 4-5 years of Accounting and Finance experience preferred
  • CPA preferred or in process
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP, including willingness to research and resolve accounting applications.
  • Proficient in ERP software experience
