Overview

We’re looking for a skilled and driven Senior Web Developer to help elevate our digital presence and client success through custom WordPress and Elementor projects. This is a remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while playing a key role in the development of high-performance, aesthetically pleasing websites. You’ll take the lead on web development projects, crafting custom builds that are both functional and design-driven.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining WordPress websites, implementing custom development solutions, and optimising performance for a wide variety of clients. You’ll be involved from planning through to launch, ensuring projects are delivered on time, meet objectives, and perform seamlessly across all platforms.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams to bring creative ideas to life while ensuring functionality and user experience remain top priorities. As we continue to grow, there’s scope to step into a leadership role, mentoring junior developers and shaping the future of our development approach.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Web Developer, your responsibilities will include:

Building, customising, and maintaining websites, primarily in WordPress with Elementor, alongside front-end development using HTML, CSS/Bootstrap, and other custom solutions.
Leading web development projects from concept through to launch, ensuring high standards of functionality, usability, and design.
Writing and implementing custom CSS to deliver pixel-perfect front-end execution.
Collaborating with the Design team to integrate high-quality visuals and interactive elements.
Troubleshooting and optimising website performance to deliver fast, responsive, and cross-browser compatible experiences.
Tracking and analysing website performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Staying current with emerging web technologies and best practices to refine and advance our development approach.
Managing website migrations, updates, and security to ensure smooth, reliable operations.
Providing technical leadership on projects and offering mentorship to junior developers where required.

Skills and Desirables

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

3+ years’ professional experience in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress and Elementor.
Advanced knowledge of PHP, CSS, and JavaScript, with proven experience in custom development.
Expertise in writing custom CSS for seamless, visually precise front-end execution.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead projects, delivering high-quality work on time.
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and best practices for user-friendly builds.
Experience with performance optimisation, including caching, image optimisation, and code minification.
Ability to track, analyse, and interpret website performance metrics to inform ongoing improvements.
A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the discipline to work independently in a remote environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate confidently with both clients and internal teams.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and how they impact site performance.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug effectively.
