Voltex Electrical is on the lookout for a talented Senior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our server systems, networks, and cloud environments. As a Senior Systems Administrator, your primary focus will be on optimizing our IT infrastructure's performance, security, and scalability to support the ongoing growth of Voltex. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration and cloud services, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities{{:}}

Oversee the day-to-day operations of server infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair
Perform monthly patching activities of production and lower environments
Assist in monitoring and managing the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and VPNs to ensure uptime and performance
Assist in data center modernization, and cloud migration / adaptation activities
Assist with IT infrastructure projects and initiatives
Provide tier 2-3 operational support to employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues
Coordinate with third-party vendors for IT-related services, including procurement, software licensing, and maintenance agreements
Performs troubleshooting as required. Leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel
Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host operating systems, hyper-converged infrastructures, disk storage arrays, networking equipment, and other components
Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host resources
Develop and manage backup strategies, ensure data integrity, and execute disaster recovery plans when needed
Ensures that records of infrastructure equipment inventory are properly maintained
Stays current with technological developments in infrastructure and systems administration technology, as well as recommends ways to maximize and take advantage of new technology
Interfaces with, and contributes to overall success of other IT teams, including Service Desk Operations, Database, and Applications Development
Creates and maintains a well-documented knowledge base

Requirements

Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role (minimum 5 years preferred)
Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux)
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA) are a plus
BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
