In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our server systems, networks, and cloud environments. As a Senior Systems Administrator, your primary focus will be on optimizing our IT infrastructure's performance, security, and scalability to support the ongoing growth of Voltex. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration and cloud services, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities{{:}}

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of server infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair
  • Perform monthly patching activities of production and lower environments
  • Assist in monitoring and managing the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and VPNs to ensure uptime and performance
  • Assist in data center modernization, and cloud migration / adaptation activities
  • Assist with IT infrastructure projects and initiatives
  • Provide tier 2-3 operational support to employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for IT-related services, including procurement, software licensing, and maintenance agreements
  • Performs troubleshooting as required. Leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel
  • Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host operating systems, hyper-converged infrastructures, disk storage arrays, networking equipment, and other components
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host resources
  • Develop and manage backup strategies, ensure data integrity, and execute disaster recovery plans when needed
  • Ensures that records of infrastructure equipment inventory are properly maintained
  • Stays current with technological developments in infrastructure and systems administration technology, as well as recommends ways to maximize and take advantage of new technology
  • Interfaces with, and contributes to overall success of other IT teams, including Service Desk Operations, Database, and Applications Development
  • Creates and maintains a well-documented knowledge base

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role (minimum 5 years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA) are a plus
  • BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
