Temp to Perm with nonprofit (around 14 in IT department). Must be willing to do a consulting to hire position. Salary is $100-110 K. 100% remote and prefer candidates in Maryland or surrounding states.
Job Summary:
Seeking a Product Owner to effectively organize, prioritize, and assess our team's work. Key tasks will involve gathering feature requests, orchestrating releases, and coordinating sprints. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of user needs and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to oversee product releases. Additionally, this role also involves staff management responsibilities, including guiding and mentoring team members to achieve product goals.
Responsibilities:
- Define strategy, operating model, and roadmap to achieve the product vision and business goals.
- Oversee all stages of product development, including design and development. Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process. Deliver updates and status reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business users, technical staff, and design staff) to define, develop and manage product requirements and updates based on ongoing client-driven needs.
- Manage a team of 3 business analysts and 1 project manager (to be hired) to ensure efficient collaboration and successful product goal delivery. (Future expansion of team planned).
- Determine and manage the priority of projects and business capabilities, accommodating evolving requirements.
- Partner with stakeholders to drive feedback sessions and determine OKR estimates and success criteria.
- Plan releases and enhancements. Set sprint objectives and compose acceptance tests.
- Adapt agile methodologies based on results and client feedback.
Requirements and skills:
- Proficiency in Agile principles and methodologies, demonstrated through experience in Agile environments and leadership of Agile teams.
- Hands-on management experience across all stages of the product life cycle.
- Technical aptitude with a background in software development.
- Proven ability to effectively manage and communicate with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and adeptness in team management.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in product management, project management or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role.
- At least 2 years’ experience in managing and mentoring technical staff.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field
- Preferred Certifications: CSPO or PSPO or PMP
