Job Description for Product Owner/Business Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership:
· Backlog Management: Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that it is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.
· User Stories: Write clear and concise user stories with acceptance criteria that development teams can act on.
· Product Roadmap: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
· Sprint Planning: Work with the Scrum Master and development team to plan sprints, ensuring that the highest-value features are delivered.
· Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that everyone is aligned on product goals and progress.
Business Analysis:
· Requirement Gathering: Elicit, document, and validate business and system requirements through workshops, interviews, and analysis of existing processes.
· Process Analysis: Analyze current business processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
· Solution Design: Work with technical teams to design solutions that meet business requirements and align with system architecture.
· Data Analysis: Analyze business data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential improvements that support product development.
· Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed functional specifications, use cases, and process documentation to support project development and implementation.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, QA engineers, and development teams to deliver high-quality products on time.
· Customer Focus: Gather customer and user feedback to continuously improve product offerings and ensure they meet end-user needs.
· Workshops and Meetings: Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and product demonstrations to ensure alignment between business goals and technical teams.
Quality Assurance and Delivery:
· Acceptance Testing: Review and approve user stories for release, ensuring they meet defined acceptance criteria and business requirements.
· Feedback Loop: Actively gather feedback from end users and stakeholders post-launch to refine and improve product features.
· Release Management: Coordinate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth and timely product releases.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
· Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related role, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Strong experience working with cross-functional teams in product management, software development, or business process improvement.
- Experience in requirement elicitation, user story creation, and backlog management.
- Agile Methodology: Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and related tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
- Business Analysis Skills: Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate them effectively to development teams.
- Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of software development processes, APIs, databases, and system integration.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing relationships with stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
