An exciting role is open for a Bioinformatics Product Manager to lead the commercialization of cutting-edge bioinformatics tools and software related to genome mapping technology. This role collaborates with bioinformatics, R&D, sales, marketing, and customers to drive innovative products in genomics. The ideal candidate should have expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, and product management, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- π Product Strategy & Roadmap:
- Manage product portfolio, including pricing and cloud-based solutions.
- Define vision and strategy for human genome mapping platforms.
- Conduct market research and gather feedback to enhance products.
- π€ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Liaison between bioinformatics, R&D, software, and sales teams.
- Define and prioritize features with bioinformatics scientists and engineers.
- Provide sales training and technical expertise.
- π₯ Customer Engagement & Market Analysis:
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and prioritize development.
- Monitor trends in genomics and bioinformatics.
- Build relationships with research and clinical institutions.
- π οΈ Product Development & Launch:
- Refine product value propositions for key segments.
- Manage bioinformatics tool deployment and support troubleshooting.
- Lead product development cycles from concept to launch.
- π Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Leverage customer data and market insights for product improvements.
- Define and monitor KPIs to track product success.
Qualifications:
- Masterβs degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, or related field; advanced degrees (PhD, MBA) preferred.
- 4-6 years in product management, especially in bioinformatics or genomics.
- Experience with genome sequencing, genome mapping, or bioinformatics tools.
- Strong project management, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
