Narrative & Strategic Communications Lead

Veritas Institute · Remote (Global applicants welcome)

Help us defend truth in public life.

The Veritas Institute is a nonprofit initiative committed to restoring public trust in science, research, and evidence-based policy. We’re looking for a compelling communicator to shape the voice of Veritas across platforms and help us bring clarity, urgency, and hope to some of the most complex ethical challenges of our time.

🔹 What you’ll do:

• Craft and refine Veritas’ public-facing voice across our website, social channels, and publications

• Translate research ethics issues, whistleblower stories, and scientific integrity topics into clear and engaging narratives

• Lead communications strategy for major releases, statements, and campaigns

• Collaborate with researchers, technologists, and advocates to make our work accessible to diverse audiences

• Build relationships with aligned journalists, institutions, and storytellers

🔹 You might be a great fit if:

• You have experience in journalism, public interest communications, social impact storytelling, or a related field

• You write with moral clarity and strategic precision

• You’re comfortable navigating sensitive, high-stakes topics and working with whistleblowers or vulnerable groups

• You understand the power of narrative—not just to explain the world, but to change it

🔹 Nice-to-haves (not required):

• Familiarity with disinformation research, science communication, or academic publishing

• Experience leading campaigns or public launches

• Comfort with simple visual storytelling or multimedia formats

💡 What we offer:

• A mission-driven, cross-disciplinary team working to reform broken systems of knowledge and power

• The opportunity to build a communications strategy from the ground up

• Flexibility in hours and location

• Recognition and growth within a high-integrity global network

This is a volunteer role. We welcome applicants who are transitioning, early-career, or bringing deep experience from elsewhere.
