Reports to: Financial Manager

Salary: Market related (based on experience - this is a junior position)

Location: Remote

Contract type: Fixed-Term Contract with possibility for permanency.



Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day financial tasks across six companies within our group. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the organization’s finances are well-organized and that the bookkeeping is kept in order for budgeting and taxation purposes.


Key Responsibilities:

• Releasing Accounts Payable (AP) bills

• Updating and managing bank transactions

• Preparation of creditors’ reconciliations

• Creation of Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) and processing payments via bank

• Preparation of bank reconciliations

• Management of credit card accounts

• Customer payment follow-ups and inquiries

• Resolving invoice discrepancies and customer payment issues

• Assisting with audit processes



Qualifications & Experience Required:

• 1-2 years of experience in a financial assistant or similar role

• A BCom degree or financial qualification is required

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures

• Familiarity with accounting software and strong computer skills

• Experience managing financial tasks for multiple companies will be advantageous

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently under pressure
