Rated as one of the world's most effective animal protection organizations by Animal Charity Evaluators, Sinergia Animal is an international campaigning organization working in countries in the Global South (specifically Latin America and Southeast Asia) to reduce animal suffering and promote more compassionate food choices.
We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of farmed animals and to help build a world in which no animals are exploited for food.
About the position
The International Development & Partnerships Lead will support Sinergia Animal’s fellowship regranting program and broader fundraising and movement-building strategies. Reporting to the Development Director, this role will manage relationships with regranting participants, help identify funding opportunities, contribute to grant writing and donor communications, and work closely with a global team to amplify our community-building impact across the Global South.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Fellowship Regranting Program:
- Serving as the main point of contact for fellows and regranting participants.
- Developing onboarding processes and materials for new fellows or grantees.
- Helping prepare internal reports on trends and learnings from movement-building or regranting efforts.
- Managing ongoing communication, setting clear expectations, assigning tasks, and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Monitoring and supporting fellows’ strategies and progress, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Facilitating mentorships and knowledge exchange between participants and Sinergia Animal staff.
- Maintaining updated documentation and reporting dashboards for the program.
Development and Fundraising:
- Maintaining a shared calendar of development-related deadlines (grant reports, donor updates, internal check-ins).
- Contributing to the achievement of annual fundraising and movement-building goals by supporting events, online campaigns, and international development initiatives.
- Collaborating on the planning and execution of fundraising and awareness-building events, including international conferences, donor engagement efforts, and special campaigns.
- Assisting in writing and editing grant proposals, progress reports, and donor communications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Researching and tracking new grant opportunities, monitoring deadlines, and helping prepare timely submissions.
Community-Building Support:
- Supporting the coordination and delivery of results according to Development KPIs, tracking results, and compiling information for monthly operational meetings;
- Collaborating with Community and Development Coordinators across regions to enable local implementation of global strategies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with a remote international team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with issues related to animal protection, food systems, or cage-free campaigning.
Highly Desirable:
- Proven experience in at least one of the following: grant management, fundraising, donor relations, or community-building, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Passion for the mission of Sinergia Animal and alignment with a vegan lifestyle or willingness to learn.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
- Experience working or volunteering in an international or cross-cultural context.
