Volunteer Opportunity: Commercial Manager (Remote)

Lead the commercial strategy for two impactful sustainability platforms: Greenhouse Calculator & Virtual Eco Explorer

Are you passionate about climate action and ready to take ownership of bringing purpose-driven tools to market?

Nordic Waves is looking for a Commercial Manager (volunteer) to join our global team and lead the commercial development of two exciting projects:

Greenhouse Calculator (greenhousecalculator.com) – a carbon calculator (2,400+ monthly users) helping individuals track and reduce their carbon footprint
VirtualEcoExplorer – a VR-based educational game teaching environmental awareness through immersive experiences

Your Mission:

Turn purpose into partnership. You’ll be responsible for developing, launching, and executing the commercial strategies for both platforms—with the core goal of securing our first customers and clients.

Your Role Includes:

Creating and leading the go-to-market and partnership strategy
Executing on outreach to potential partners, sponsors, and clients (schools, organizations, eco-brands, etc.)
Building monetization models (affiliate, sponsorship, marketplace, B2B/B2G pilots)
Developing messaging and materials with support from our design and comms teams
Tracking progress and refining strategy to optimize results

What You Bring:

A background in business development, commercial strategy, or partnerships
Entrepreneurial mindset and experience working independently
Passion for climate, sustainability, and impactful tech
Familiarity with education, B2B, or mission-driven projects is a plus
