The Power BI Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting the Power BI environment in the organization. They ensure that Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets are reliable, secure, and accessible to authorized users.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deployment and Configuration: Deploying Power BI services, configuring gateways, and managing data sources.
  • Security and Access Control: Setting up security roles, managing user access, and ensuring data privacy compliance.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitoring performance, optimizing queries, and improving report load times.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Resolving issues related to data refresh, connectivity, and report rendering.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to create meaningful visualizations.
  • Governance: Implementing governance policies, version control, and best practices.
  • Training and Documentation: Providing training to end-users and documenting processes.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Working closely with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that the BI solutions meet business needs and are aligned with company goals.
  • Updates & Upgrades: Keeping the Power BI service up to date with the latest updates and features released by Microsoft.
  • Report Management: Overseeing the creation, distribution, and maintenance of reports and dashboards to ensure they deliver accurate and actionable insights.
  • Strategic: Stays informed on newest Microsoft offerings and how they impact Power BI (i.e. Microsoft Fabric).

What qualifications you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Administration or related field.
  • 5+ years of IT experience.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and other Microsoft BI Tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with data governance and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, particularly those related to data and analytics.
  • Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, and other data transformation tools.
  • Previous experience in a BI administrator role or a similar position.
  • A track record of managing Power BI services and ensuring their optimal performance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Power BI related issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of the organization-wide settings that control how Power BI works.
  • Ability to configure, monitor, and provision organizational resources with Power BI.
  • Experience in data visualization/exploration tools.
