As an Associate Underwriter you will be a vital part of this journey. You’re hands-on: not only can you see the big picture and how things tie together but you can dive into the weeds and execute projects and assignments with little oversight. You will work closely with our amazing internal teams, external partners, and use your curious mind and attention to detail to support collaborative business relationships, elicit client understanding and insight to advise and make recommendations.

A day in the life:

• Analyze customers' business information and partner with brokers to receive all information on a timely basis
• Prepare and present detailed risk assessment reports to Senior Underwriters, assist in making underwriting decisions within designated authority limits, and undertake accurate data entry and risk set up on behalf of Underwriters while working closely with them to continuously expand your technical knowledge base
• Maintain underwriting quality and implement operational enhancements to maximize efficiencies, evaluate measurement controls, identify trends, and make recommendations for process improvements to reduce loss ratios
• Evaluate loss run data and assess information contained in Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs)
• Upskilling and cross-training colleagues
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners

The skills your bring:

• Experience as an Underwriting Assistant or Associate Underwriter, ideally within auto or commercial auto
• You’re a people person: chatting with people gives you a buzz and you love sharing your infectious energy with others
• You love to learn, you have healthy scepticism of the status quo and you’re obsessed with continuously finding better ways to do things
• You like to solve problems and get things done: you focus on finding solutions when it comes to communicating and working with others
• You’re hands-on: not only can you see the big picture and how things tie together but you can dive into the weeds and execute projects and assignments with little oversight
