Your Role

As an Accounting Assistant, you are responsible for:

  • Prepare engagement letters and maintain the client spreadsheet.
  • Monitor client accounts to ensure sufficient funds for mortgage payments.
  • Upload Racing NSW statements for all jockeys.
  • Support processing of AP/AR transactions and other accounting entries.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and various accounting tasks.
  • Process payroll transactions accurately and on schedule.
  • Collect, calculate, and enter data to keep accounting records up to date.
  • Flag and communicate any payroll-related issues to the team.
  • Maintain payroll compliance by following established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and storage of payroll records.
  • Assist in preparing financial and payroll reports as needed.


Job Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience as a Personal Assistant with accounting responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Xero.
  • Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a repetitive/monotonous environment.
  • Strong time management skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Quick to learn new tools, processes, and tasks.
  • Willingness to undergo training and develop new skills.
  • Experience with Australian payroll is preferred but not required.
